Deceased Comic Book Legend, Dwayne McDuffie, to Receive a WGAW Animation Writing Award

The award given is the Writers Guild of America, West Animation Writers Caucus’ 14th annual Animation Writing Award, which recognizes writers in the work of animation.

For those of you who don't know, Dwayne McDuffie was the creator of the Static Shock animated television series, produced Justice League Unlimited and was a co-founder of Milestone. The honor is basically an appreciation of the late artist. Also recieving an award is Earl Kress, who wrote for Transformers, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, The Smurfs, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The Little Rascals, The Berenstain Bears, Ghostbusters, Kim Possible and many more.

McDuffie, 49, died from a failed heart surgery.
