I posted at ign and I also
Agree that marvel won!! Its obvious that on movie, marvel is on top with only the dark knight and batman begins being the most beloved dc movie so far... I just cant accept how DC lose
By so much on heroes category.... I would personally vote for a
Tie on heroes category!!!

@marvel72: Um, you know its really not good to have TOO MUCH of bias for either. I love Marvel, but I don't think that they're better than DC. And honestly, I prefer DC a little (I'll list my reasons later), but that doesn't mean I go around saying "Marvel sucks" like a douche, which apparently is a courtesy that you don't think DC fans deserve.

And I personally think that IGN may be a little Marvel biased. They did a feature on villains that claims that Marvel villains were superior and even though they explained their thinking, I still find the reasoning to be a little thin. I mean, some of their arguments didn't even really stand up when I thought about it. Also, their top 100 list of villains totally screwed up by placing Joker in the #2 spot and Magneto in the #1 spot. Even the visitors to their site were calling them out on that, saying Joker should have outranked Magneto for the #1 spot.

Here's how I would've ranked it:

Heroes: Tie
Villains: DC
Games: I don't really play games, so I wouldn't know
TV: DC
Movies: Marvel (Obviously, Marvel has better movies overall, but Batman Begins and Dark Knight are still two of the best comic-book movies ever made)

Like I said before, I personally prefer DC, but that's not because I like the characters more. I like both company's heroes equally. However, I find that DC tends to have better written comics. Don't get me wrong, there are some good Marvel comic stories, but usually I find the writing to be just a little stiff. When I pick up a Marvel most of the times, the plot may be interesting enough and the action is good, but what distracts me is the stiff, awkward dialogue and the two-dimensional character development that I find in a lot of their titles. Some of them break that mold. For example, I found Civil War to be a very good, very well written story-line (as well as the Spider-Man Civil War tie-ins). I also really like the Warren Ellis Captain America title from 2004. I only read the beginning of Fear Itself, but from what I read, it seemed good. BUT that doesn’t change the fact that whenever I read an X-Men comic, I cringe because its so bad

However, for me at least and at least for the moment, DC is the company that gives me consistently good stories. Infinite Crisis, 52, Green Lantern: Secret Origin, Sinestro Corps War, Rage of the Red Lanterns, Superman: Birthright, Batman: Year One, Superman/Batman: Big Noise, All Star Superman, Blackest Night, etc. All of these were stories that I truly, truly enjoyed. I've also been loving the New 52. Currently, DC reigns supreme when it comes to the actual stories. And, while I do love Marvel's characters and I do occasionally like to read Marvel, DC for me is just the company that produces more serious, more mature stories. That doesn't mean that Marvel is bad though.

@froggy:

"If they added another category for Animated Films, DC would win there as well. The only Marvel animated movies I enjoyed were "Hulk vs" (just the Wolverine half though) and maybe the Avengers ones (but even those were kinda meh to be honest. DC, on the other hand, had Crisis on Two Earths, Mask of the Phantasm, Under the Red Hood, a whole bunch of other Batman ones, Wonder Woman, both Green Lantern movies, S/B Public Enemies, S/B Apocalypse, Doomsday, and all four DC Shorts (Green Arrow, Jonah Hex, Shazam, and the Spectre)... and there's plenty I didn't even mention. Talk about win."

I totally agree that DC wins hands down in the animated DTV movies category. I personally would really like to see Marvel release more animated DTVs and some of the ones that they do have weren't half bad. I personally liked Dr. Strange and Hulk vs., but those two were the ONLY ones that I really liked. Ultimate Avengers was ok, but the rest were just awful, Young Avengers, Thor: Tales of Asgard, Invincible Iron Man were all god-awful. I didn't even bother watching the entirety of them, I was done like 20-25 minutes in for each one of them. DC on the other hand has animated movies that I could watch again and again and I'm really looking forward to seeing Batman: Year One. I read the comic and if its anything like what Frank Miller wrote, it'll be amazing. It just seems as if in the animated movie department, even DC's worst is better than Marvel's best attempt.

What I really want is for them to make a Flash DTV. That would be amazing. Maybe base it off of a certain storyline from the comics. I was thinking maybe Dastardly Death of the Rogues would be a good story to adapt for a DTV movie. But whatever they choose, it HAS to be Barry as the Flash, not Jay and not Wally. But, you know what'd be even better than a Flash DTV movie, a Flash animated series.

I mean, seriously. Flash (Barry) needs some limelight and DC needs to get some more series out there. I like Young Justice, its a good show, and I've been enjoying the new episodes. I may have a few gripes with it, but, regardless, its good. I'm also really happy that Green Lantern is getting his own animated series. I'm not too certain about it being CGI though, but this means he might also get a traditional animated series in the future. But, I think DC needs to make at least one or two more animated series for their big names, but NOT Batman. He's had enough animated series for one decade. I'm talking the other DC heroes like Wonder Woman, Superman (I know he had one already but he's due for a new one, don't you think) and, of course, the Flash. The Flash could make a great subject an animated series. He's a great character with a fun and colorful rogues gallery to show off: Captain Boomerang, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Trickster, Abra Kadabra, Zoom, and, of course, Gorilla Grodd, not to mention many more.
