Featuring the tagline "What is Hidden in Snow, Comes Forth in Thaw," the poster makes a change to the previous controversial poster, which featured star, Rooney Mara, topless, with co-star Daniel Craig covering her. Below is the censored version of the poster:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, starring, Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, and Christopher Plummer, hits US theaters on December 21st and UK on December 26th.

Its no coincidence that the release date falls right in the Oscar race...with most of the hype around Rooney Mara, who recently passed on Spike Lee's Oldboy.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo graphic novel hits stores 2012.
