"Preacher" Adaptation Coming From Columbia Pictures

"Preacher" was previously being set up for an HBO series but that project fell though and now it seems the comic book series is back on track making it's way to the big screen.

"Preacher" was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, telling the story of a Texas preacher possesd by the spirit of Genesis. The series ran from 1995-2000.

The film adaptation is going to be produced by Neal Moritz under Original Films and will be directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition). Currently there are no writers attached.
