Robert Rodriguez may be best known for his violent action/crime flicks like Sin City and Desperado, but he's also directed some successful children's adventure movies such as Spy Kids and Sharkboy and Lavagirl, making him a good fit for Warner Bros.' live-action adaptation of '60s Hanna-Barbera animated series, Jonny Quest. According to THR, he'll direct and co-write with Terry Rossio (The Lone Ranger, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

The show focused on the globe-trotting adventures of young Jonny Quest and his father. They were accompanied by Jonny's dog Bandit, a Kolkatan orphan named Hadji, and government agent/bodyguard Race Bannon. It originally ran for only one season, but has since spawned '90s cartoon revivals and comic books.

Rodriguez and Rossio are rewriting Dan Mazeau's original script, with Dan Lin and Adrian Askarieh on board as producers.

Kind of unnecessary in my opinion. I was a fan of the 60s cartoon as a kid though.

I want this to be a fresh adaptation. They should do their own thing. Here are some advices:

-Call it "The Dark Adventures of Johnny Quest: Age of Questing Returns"
-Make Johnny a pro skater and put Jaden Smith to play him
-Make Hadji an hispanic middle-aged woman
-Make JLawrence the main villain
-Give Johnny an X-Ray vision and a personal revenge story against the villain
-Say "The name is Quest, Johnny Quest" at least twice
-Bring Steven Spielberg to direct.

And BANG! 2 billions right there!

-Cast NIc Cage as Jonny's dad

-Stretch violence and sex jokes as much as possible without falling away from PG-13
-Megan Fox is Jonnys step-sister. She can tranform into She-Hulk because of a plastic surgery gone wrong

-Also, during the third act of the film we see the gang running with unexplained redbull cans in their hands (more product placement). The next scene is a Starbucks coffee and then it goes back to red bull again for the rest of the movie
-while they are running they are using these hats:
