We recently learned that Jameela Jamil had joined the cast of the upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series as the villainous Titania, and although the trades have since backed-up the original report, The Good Place star had yet to comment.
Now, Jamil has confirmed her role by sharing a fun Instagram video which sees her practicing a fight scene. "GAH!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING???," she captioned the post. "Hands down the silliest video I’ve ever made. I’m so excited! 😂 #marvel #mcu #shehulk."
Jamil doesn't mention her character, but it's probably safe to assume that those original reports were accurate.
This take on Titania is said to be a "Kardashian-esque social media influencer in her 30s with a dark side." This would obviously be a very different origin for Mary McPherran, who was given super-human strength, stamina and durability (the powers of a Titan) by Doctor Doom during Secret Wars in the comics.
It'll probably be a while before we get an official look at Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk, but you can check out some set photos here.
Jamil joins Maslany (Orphan Black) as Jennifer Walters, Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry as a character named Amelia, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Tim Roth as Abomination and Ginger Gonzaga as Walters’ best friend (most likely Jill Stevens).
Dead To Me director Kat Coiro wil helm the pilot and several other episodes, while Rick and Morty scribe Jessica Gao will lead the writers room.
