Marvel legend Stan "The Man" Lee may soon get a huge paycheck after a judge in Manhattan federal court yesterday agreed that he’s got a right to 10 percent of the profits from movie and TV productions, and related toys, based on the Marvel characters he co-created.
A share of profits from Marvel’s ventures with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Universal Studios to produce Spider-Man and the Hulk merchandise is still up to a jury.
"This is pretty much a sweeping victory for us," said Lee's attorney Howard Graff of the firm Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky of New York.
Marvel says it will appeal and contest the items still in dispute.
