Family Room Entertainment’s Emmet/Furla Films division will partner with Millennium films to produce and distribute a Red Sonja feature film based on the Robert E. Howard character.

Writers and directors are now being sought, the studio says.

Red Sonja has appeared in comics since 1973, most recently in publications from Dynamite Entertainment. The character was featured in a 1985 film starring Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger that was a critical and box office disappointment.
