2020 was a rough year for many, and based on the recently released Spring 2021 print issue of The Pop Insider, they're ready to put it behind them and encourage others to do the same - especially those of us who are superhero fans.

The cover, entitled "Heroes Rising", was taken by toy photographer Mitchel Wu, and recognizes the difficult year that was 2020 and the bright future that lies ahead. The featured action figures span various fandoms and genres, including comics, anime, and even video games, highlighting characters from DC, Fortnite, Ghostbusters, She-Ra/Masters of the Universe, Naurto, and Power Rangers.

The Pop Insider was kind enough to allow us to share the cover, which we've included below.

When asked about the inspiration behind the cover, Wu had this to say:

"I was really thrilled to create this image because I knew it was a theme most of us could relate to. And I always have a wonderful collaboration with the team at the Pop Insider. Marissa Dibartolo, co-editor-in-chief of the Pop Insider, and I always have a fun back and forth on ideas, playing with a variety of different themes and concepts until we arrive at something amazing. For this image, we wanted an image that communicated the power of working together to triumph over monumental challenges, which 2020 was for most of us."

Mitchel Wu even created a behind-the-scenes video, taking viewers through the process of photographing the cover. The video begins with a peice of plywood and a can of blue paint, and ends with the cover you see above. Well worth the three minute viewing time!

@tripttwe - Why. Why wouldn't it? He teamed up with the Ninja Turtles whom have teamed up with the Power Rangers before. What difference does it make? His Batwing could be a Zord in their world.

@SonOfAGif - after writing my first comment I immediately thought about the TMNT/Batman collab. I didn't like the idea of that either. To be fair, I heard good things about the book. Truth is- any story can be great with the right writer. Penny, penny.
