Steven Spielberg's Back to the Future Part II gave just about every boy, girl, man and woman the idea to make the "Hoverboards" featured in the film come to life. Well here we are 25 years later, and the dream had never come true, until now.

New to Kickstarter, the group Hendo Hoverboards has been skyrocketing lately, using the "Whitebox" technology to power "The World's First Hoverboard." It's a neat concept, and below you can check out a video to see how it works for yourself!

You can click the link here to read more details and support the project, and if you happen to have a spare $10,000 dollars, you can get your very own Hoverboard! Now that's heavy!

Hendo is introducing the world's first REAL hoverboard and hover developer kit. We are putting hover technology in YOUR hands.

Damn....next year. Next year Back To The Future II becomes even more laughably dated than it was the first time it showed us the year 2015.

That is SO freakin cool! "Back to the Future 2" was right about the hoverboard (though not so much with all the garish/neon-colored 80s fashion).

No....NO!

We can still make this shit accurate!

Electromagnetism (Japan's bullet train) and floating cooled superconductors over metal has long been known to work.... but without pure metal roads it's just another flight of fancy.

Anti-gravity without the above principle is still in the realm of sci-fi - these attempts at calling these hoverboards are laughable.

2015 is gonna be awesome!.....even if we are clearly living in the alternate timeline where Biff kept the Sports Almanac.

Yeah I saw the Huvr a couple of years ago. This is just a copycat. Although challenged with the task I personally would not be able to duplicate

@NovaCorpsFan:

Yeah, pretty good at Christmas and bar-mitzvahs too. They pay me in crushed-dreams and child-tears.

@Gliderman:

I can do that trick, notice he'll only let you see him from a certain angle, but his right ball-of-the-foot and toes are down and lifting him off, the illusion is you keep the heels together so the mind thinks both feet are level when they are not.

Next week (especially for NovaCorpsfan): the tooth fairy isn't real, Father Christmas isn't real and the Easter Bunny isn't real either.

If I had the money I probs would donate to kickstart this thing; but I know that the only ones who would only be able to own one, would be spoiled rich kids.

Hover-tech people think of when Hover-cars are mentioned:

What scientists try to pass-off as 'anti-gravity':

It's NOT ANTI-GRAVITY ! - It's THE SAME FRICKIN ROTARY-BLADE TECHNOLOGY that's been used successfully since 1939 and theorized since the 4th Century AD.
SimyJo
SimyJo - 10/21/2014, 12:17 PM
While the rest of the western world is mucking about fantasising about sci-fi hoverboards and building garden-shed-based prototypes - Japan has running trains on the principle:

SimyJo
SimyJo - 10/21/2014, 12:27 PM
Maglev and super-cooled conductors = levitating only on a self prepared track of specialised material. The holy-grail of anti-gravity is something which cancels out the field of gravity in a localised area and which would work on any surface and in any enviroment - THAT'S true 'anti-gravity'. And when it happens, IF it ever happens, it will be a total game-changer for life on earth including safe travel into space because at the moment all the expense of space travel is lifting the payload out of Earth's gravitational pull and into/past orbit.
