Platinum Studios and Top Cow say the Image Comics series The Darkness may become a movie under a deal struck with Dimension Films.
The studio now has exclusive rights to develop the live action film.
The Darkness was created by Marc Silvestri, Garth Ennis and David Wohl and centers on a top Mafia hitman who discovers he can manipulate a dark force to attack his enemies. The character has had frequent tie-ins with Witchblade.
