Xenix Rants: James Cameron, the Hypocrite

Is this man nothing but a load of talk?

"Hollywood is out of ideas..... [They] created a second part to a successful film simply because they knew what sort of reception it would get on release. These excesses are getting ridiculous."

And with those words, I lose all respect for this man.

Cameron, just because Avatar made money, doesn't make you the god of filmmaking. How dare you accuse a move being made just for the money, when look what you've done. You've used your own popularity just to make money as well, in case you've forgotten.

"[They] created a second part to a successful film simply because they knew what sort of reception it would get on release."

It's one thing to release a 'Directors Cut' as a DVD, but releasing it back into theaters? It's obvious Cameron has a head the size of Russia. He's being a pompous, arrogant, jerk. What a hypocrite, he claims it's just to make money when he's done even worse. Harry Potter is at least two SEPERATE films, whilst yours is just the EXACT SAME FILM as before, simply with a few extra minutes of movie. Who'd pay 11 dollars to see the same film as before, when it's already on DVD?

"Hollywood is out of ideas.....

Oh, now this is just bullshit. The similarities between Avatar, Dances with Wolves and Pocahontas are so obvious it's downright laughable. It's basically the exact same movie.

Please, Cameron. Avatar is to Pocahontas/Dances with Wolves as Eragon is to Star Wars: The main difference is the setting.

In short, Cameron: You are dead, dead, dead wrong.

wow he made a comment like that really, whats his reason for the re-release then because that does not seem to be a very artistic move. yes obviously harry potter being split in to two parts means that they can get all of it in but thats not the only reason gaining money is also factor but cameron does seem to have gone a bit over board. but theres no denying the fact that the guy has made some great movies

I have to say that Avatar was not a perfect movie and is very overrated but it is a visual masterpiece. James Cameron might be big headed but you gotta give it to him that he knows how to make a movie. He made such such great movies like Terminator, The Abyss, Titanic, and Avatar.

Not only was this not an original movie, but they couldn't of even thought of giving soldiers from the year 2154 armour that could maybey protect them from arrows. That could be a flaw that ends in their demise. I mean just maybey. LOL

Wise words dude! Can't stand Cameron anymore.
He's a genius ahead of his time in terms of directing and visual spectacle but when it comes to story-writing he's nowhere near the top of the list of the greats, not by a long-shot.
And you're right, he's a pompous ass nowadays.

You have given me a reason to smile. Thanks for showing me that there are other intelligent folks out in this world. James Cameron is my motivation to make movies, his unoriginal ideas and hypocritical philosophies drive me to make the best of myself and show the world that great films can be made, far less expensive than he makes them with more quality and creativity than his lame excuse for movies.

James Cameron stopped making good movies with Titanic. That movie was absolute shit and has made nothing worth while since then. Avatar looked good because of the budget. If every movie had a $500 million budget every damn movie would look great. This whole fad of Avatar is so god damn annoying. I saw it once and regretted it. Nothing was original and I got so bored I started calling out the predictable story in the theater just to piss other people off. Salvaging this movie should be labeled as the "unobtanium" b.s. he came up with for this film.
