Lead actor Thomas Jane says he thinks of Frank Castle, the Punisher, as a real person when portraying him on the big screen.

"I did as much research as I could about this man as if he was a real person," Jane told Comics Continuum. "To me, he's a real person. But there's no footage and sometimes that the way it is.

"It's pretty much your interpretation, to the best of your knowledge, of how this person behaves, thinks and does what he does. I treat Frank Castle the exact same way. As a real, living, breathing human being. And I'm giving my interpretation to him," he said.

Jane, director Jonathan Hensleigh, producers Gale Anne Hurd and Avi Arad and wrestler/actor Kevin Nash (who plays the Russian) will be at Wizard World Los Angeles March 19-21 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
