Idris Elba & Matthew McConaughey Stand Tall On New Character Posters For THE DARK TOWER
With the summer movie season fully underway, Sony Pictures has started to ramp up the promotional efforts for their upcoming August release, The Dark Tower. Check out new posters & a still now!
After numerous delays, Sony Pictures' The Dark Tower is finally set for an August release, during a weekend that in recent years has proven to be quite fruitful for unproven potential franchise launchers, namely Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 and Suicide Squad in 2016.
Golden Globe-winner Idris Elba (Thor: Ragnarok) and Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey (Gold) headline the piece as The Gunslinger and The Man in Black, respectively, with a supporting cast that features Tom Taylor (Legends), Katheryn Winnick (Vikings), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Abbey Lee Kershaw (Mad Max: Fury Road), and Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron), amongst others.
Yesterday, ahead of their show-stopping Venom announcement, Sony released two new character posters for the film featuring the two leads front-and-center. Check them out, in full hi-resolution, below:
There are other worlds than these. Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, the ambitious and expansive story from one of the world’s most celebrated authors, makes its launch to the big screen. The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.
