GOTHAM Alum Cameron Monaghan Teases Possible Live-Action Turn As STAR WARS JEDI's Cal Kestis

After playing "The Joker" in Gotham, actor Cameron Monaghan took a trip to a Galaxy Far, Far Away to play Cal Kestis in the Star Wars Jedi video game series, but could a live-action appearance follow?

Jedi: Fallen Order was a bigger critical and commercial hit than anyone anticipated, and the story of young Jedi Cal Kestis instantly resonated with Star Wars fans. The character has since become a firm fan-favourite, with the hope being that he will eventually make the leap to live-action.

While the adventure will continue for Cal in next year's Jedi: Survivor, his story being set between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope opens the door to him appearing in any number of upcoming projects. Andor, for example, would be a great potential fit for the character seeing as that revolves around the Rebellion's early days.

Time will tell on that front, but there continue to be rumours online that Gotham alum Cameron Monaghan will bring his video game protagonist to the big or small screen.

Doing the rounds to promote Paradise Highway, the actor only fuelled speculation by telling Screen Rant (via SFFGazette.com), "Well of course there’s interest. That’s about all I can say. [Laughs]"

These comments are very similar to what Ian McDiarmid was saying prior to his return as Emperor Palpatine in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and we'd be surprised if something has already been lined up for the actor. Lucasfilm will need to explain where he was during the events of the original trilogy, of course, but an appearance in Ahsoka also seems somewhat feasible.

Previously, there have been rumblings about a Cal Kestis TV series, though we're not sure what that would mean for the video game franchise. With D23 and Disney+ Day rapidly approaching, we can only hope that Lucasfilm plans to announce something with this character as soon as next month.

Failing that, we still have the video game to look forward to and a surprise cameo somewhere can't be discounted given how many times we've been surprised by those on Disney+.
