New Official ALIEN: COVENANT Image Calls To Mind The Colonial Marines From James Cameron's ALIENS

With the first trailer on the way soon, 20th Century Fox has released an official still from Alien: Covenant, which features a group of well armed individuals stalking through the darkness.

The first teaser trailer for the sequel to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner debuted earlier today, and it shouldn't be too long before we get our first glimpse at some footage from the next installment of another sci-fi franchise the legendary director kick-started many years ago: Alien: Covenant.

In the meantime, the studio has released a new official image from the film, and it will no doubt remind fans of those tense early scenes from James Cameron's Aliens featuring the Colonial Marines.

Chances are these guys are simply members of the Covenant's crew in the process of scoping out a mysterious new planet, but that remains to be seen of course.

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demien Bichir and Danny McBride, and is set to hit theaters on August 4, 2017.

@Quicker - The plots of these movies are all so one-dimensional.

@teefurtree - That's what makes them worth watching. They're just one dimensional, no-thought-required popcorn flicks.
