SPIDER-MAN Star James Franco Confirms Role In Ridley Scott's ALIEN: COVENANT

It was recently rumoured that James Franco will appear in Alien: Covenant, but many fans doubted that an actor as well known as the Why Him? star could have joined the cast without it being revealed online beforehand. However, in two new interviews with HeyUGuys and We Got This Covered, Franco confirmed his involvement and expressed his excitement to be part of the Prometheus sequel.

He wouldn't however shed any light on the character he plays, but we've heard that he'll be the Captain of the Covenant and that the star will factor heavily into the movie's viral marketing campaign.

A brief synopsis for the highly anticipated movie was also revealed last year, and it teases: "Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

The cast of Alien: Covenant also includes Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Noomi Rapace, and Guy Pearce, and as you can see below, it will be released on May 19th.

So he's the Guy Pearce of this movie. Makes sense, just don't put him in godawful old age makeup.

Sometimes I like Franco but sometimes he annoys me. Felt miscast in 11/22/63 but have enjoyed him in other roles like Pinapple Express

Hopefully, Alien: Covenant actually gives us the answers promised to us by Prometheus!

Send the gleep glops back to planet Gorbo and build a Dyson sphere over Earth...and have Lord Xenu pay for it.

Wow, I didn't realize anyone liked James Franco. I personally cannot stand him and would prefer he wasn't in any movies I watch.

Seth Rogen plagued James Franco like The Emperor did to Anakin Skywalker. He just seems like a douchebag now. I used to like him.

Anyone else think if Franco really got into it and wasnt just playing his goofy self like he does in all is films...he wouldve made a decent choice for The Joker?

It would be nice too see former Sam Raimi Spiderman cast having cameos as Peter Parker's schoolmates parents in Spiderman Homecoming. Kinsten Dunst as Gwen's mother.
