THR report that Man Of Steel/American Hustle actress Amy Adams has signed on to star in the adaptation of a short story by Nebula and Hugo Award-winning author Ted Chiang, Story Of Your Life. The script was written by Eric Heisserer, with Prisoners' Denis Villeneuve on board to direct. According to the site, Adams will play "an expert linguist recruited by the military to determine whether they [Aliens] come in peace or are a threat. As she learns to communicate with the aliens, she begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking the greater mystery about the true purpose of their visit." The movie is gearing up to shoot early next year.
