According to Variety Disney is on the hunt for some big tentpole pictures that can be turned into franchises, and Landis' project fits the mold. Variety describes the film as an "emotional journey of a brother and sister as they undertake an epic adventure."

Landis is the son of legendary producer John Landis. He has made a name for himself in Hollywood with 20th Century Fox's Chronicle, and an untitled Frankenstein project that will be produced by John Davis.

"Chronicle," 20th Century Fox's docu-style account of three Seattle teens who develop superpowers after being exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods, bows Feb. 3. Pic's trailer has generated a lot of heat in social-media circles. Josh Trank helms.

Max's dad, John Landis is a well known director, more than a producer. Kudos to the young and comic-book fan screenwriter.

Any time someone sells an original, high concept spec script in this day's market (when remakes and existing franchises are king), it's an exciting and great thing for all writers and would-be writers!
