I'm not over hyping the film but it won't disappoint. Go into the movie trying to block out everything you hear from others such as how amazing it was. It's tough to do so but I don't want your experience to be ruined because you expected something due to what you've heard and yet expectations weren't met.

@Tea - Yeah I haven't seen it either...but everyone I know that saw it liked it, well, except one...and I don't trust his judgement either. I wish it was out before Christmas though.

This and Hangover were my favorite movies of the year. The second my Blockbuster opens, on Dec. 29, I'm busting in and getting That Movie. I liked G.I. Joe, but this was the true Dark horse of the summer.

Best movie this year so far definitely. I doubt I will see a movie better than D9 this year, and that includes Avatar.

One of my top 10 fav. movies of all time, I won't be missing the blu-ray.

Just curious, but for everyone who saw the movie during its theatrical run and went with someone, was it a girl or guy?

I'm asking because I went with my girlfriend and she initially hated how slow paced it was although I was smitten since the opening sequence. She eventually loved how it played out. But I noticed everyone of my male friends enjoyed it from the beginning.

So whoever you guys went withwhat did they think of it?

Why is Peter Jackson infamous?

@whispers68,

The same happened to me. I went to see D9 with 7 friends ( 3 girls, 4 guys), and the chicks didn't really like the movie ( one of them actually fell asleep!), while me and the guys thought it was the best movie of the year. What gives?

Dude, I'm as clueless as you're, which is why I asked everyone else if they came across the same situation i did. What did they say about it? It was boring? It dragged along?
supermarioworldE
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 8:30 PM
It's funny. They said that they couldn't get through the first half of the movie, and that the movie, overall was kinda boring. I was shocked to say the least, but I just can't understand it

Definite purchase!

Best movie of the summer, perhaps the year.

Not one of those movies you could just watch over and over (Unless it was on TNT, AMC, or TBS). But it is one of those movies that you would want to watch to charge your brain on from time to time.
