Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is set to Arrakis for Dune: Messiah, and while we wait to learn more about his plans for the threequel, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has today shared plans for Dune: Part Two's upcoming digital and physical media release.

As we first reported on SFFGazette.com earlier today, the sequel will hit Digital platforms on April 16, a mere 45 days after it first arrived in theaters. Then, on May 14, Dune: Part Two will be made available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

In terms of special features, there will be plenty for Dune fans to delve into. However, there's no mention of deleted scenes, meaning we won't get to see whatever cut actors Tim Blake Nelson and Stephen McKinley Henderson shot for Part Two.

"I’m a strong believer that when it’s not in the movie, it’s dead," Villeneuve recently said of his decision to leave deleted scenes on the cutting room floor. "Sometimes I remove shots and I say, ‘I cannot believe I’m cutting this out. I feel like a samurai opening my gut. It’s painful, so I cannot go back after that and create a Frankenstein and try to reanimate things that I killed. It’s too painful."

"When it’s dead, it’s dead, and it’s dead for a reason. But yes, it is a painful project, but it is my job. The movie prevails," he added. "I’m very severe in the editing room. I’m not thinking about my ego, I’m thinking about the movie. I kill darlings, and it’s painful for me."
