The worldwide phenomenon of The Hunger Games continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Natalie Dormer, and Julianne Moore, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is set to be released on November 21st.

The fact that they created two movies from one book, which is unwarranted at best...ruined the interest for me. 3 books...3 movies. I can't be the only one sick to death of a trilogy becoming a series of 1/2/2.5/3 crap.

If the last book of the series was worth something, then MAYBE there'd be justification to it so as to keep the narrative as intact as possible. Since this book is so panned, it makes me wonder what dreck they will spew out on screen just to add filler for two full-length movies.

I only read the first two books, and only watched the first movie. I'll definitely check out at least the second movie at some point.

@BigDaddyJinx sometimes you can't pack in the entire story into a 2.5 hour film

Average script is between 18-25,00 words. Average book is generally more than 55,00 words. Not such a big deal to split up a book into two (or three) movies. I find it strange when people complain about that extra content. Whatever, at the end of the day I get more content and I'm happy and you get to complain more. Everybody wins.
