One of the standout sequences this past summer in Luc Besson's visually stunning Valerian and the City of the Thousand Planets was undoubtedly the exciting "Big Market" sequence, which saw Major Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Sergeant Laureline (Cara Delevingne) use a variety of futuristic techniques to recover a stolen converter from the notorious pirate captain Igon Siruss (John Goodman) before he could sell it off to the highest bidder.

With the film set to arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD this coming Tuesday, November 21st, STX Entertainment and Lionsgate have provided us with a new behind-the-scenes featurette that takes a deep dive into that adrenaline-pumping sequence and how it came to be. Check it out below:

There is a mystery at the center of Alpha, a dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.
