First Look At Steven Spielberg's Postponed ROBOPOCALYPSE (Storyboards)

Robopocalypse was supposed to be Steven Spielberg's next sci-fi action tentpole, but it has been postponed for an indefinite time. It would've starred Chris Hemsworth ("Thor: The Dark World") and Anne Hathaway ("The Dark Knight Rises"). Come see storyboards!

At the beginning of this year, Steven Spielberg ("Minority Report") announced an indefinite postponement of his big-budget sci-fi adaptation of Robopocalypse. Based on the 2011 book by Daniel H. Wilson, Robopocalypse would have starred Chris Hemsworth ("The Avengers"), Anne Hathaway ("Interstellar"), and Ben Whishaw ("Skyfall"). The script was penned by Drew Goddard ("The Cabin in the Woods"). Why was production halted? Steven Spielberg's spokesman Marvin Levy said back in January that Robopocalypse was “too important and the script is not ready, and it’s too expensive to produce. It’s back to the drawing board to see what is possible.” Even though the film is in hiatus, let's take a look at some storyboards that artist Michael Anthony Jackson created for it.
Unofficial Synopsis - In the future, robots have been created to serve Mankind. Archos, the 14° version of an advanced Artificial Intelligence developed by the U.S. government, continuously deleted for displaying hostility towards humans, escapes from being destroyed and soon becomes a virus, downloading itself into every piece of A.I.-controlled technology in the planet, leading to a worldwide robot uprising where the humans caught in the chaos struggle to survive.

I really enjoyed the book. But when I heard who was cast in the film I lost some faith in the movie. Chris could have been good in the movie. But Anne not so much. The reason I am not happy about is because I have a feeling what part she would play and it is a small part.

In the book her character was not that important to the story but you could tell they were making Anne have a bigger role in the film because of who she is. I heard no news on who was to play the Japanese man who is very smart with robots or the kick butt Native American.

Plus I heard that the movie was targeting a PG-13 rating when it would be better to make it a R rated movie.

Well idk, Spielbergs recent Sci Fi's haven't been great. But I guess Nolan hasn't made any so I can't really make a judgment call

@BlackIceJoe . Anne Hathaway would have good in Robopocalypse . She is a Academy Award actress that continues to prove she has acting chops and physical skills.

I read at Deadline.com back in August 2013:

" He was looking to move fast on Robopocalypse, the Daniel H Wilson science fiction novel that was adapted by Drew Goddard. Spielberg still intends to direct that film, but he wanted to re-develop it. It is probably not his next film and will instead come further down the line." So, Spielberg is still intending to direct this flick.
