A trio of university parasychologists lose their research grant and decide to open their own business, "Ghostbusters," and almost at once are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in a Central Park West apartment. What they discover is that all Manhattan is being besieged by other worldly demons.

Ghostblasters isn't that bad, but Ghostbusters is better.

They may have filmed alternate names because of the old Ghostbusters cartoon from the 70's.

Probably was going to be a name choosing skit in the movie - the clapper says Ghostbusters...

Back in the mid 70s when I was a kid I use to watch the "original" ghostbusters on TV. This show was the basis of the "original" ghostbusters cartoon. It was fun to at first but the gags were routinely and eventually dragged. When the Ghostbusters movie trailer came out in the 80's at first I thought both are related. As it turns out this new movie version was far more superior in the effects, story and of course the jokes. My guess this clip is simply part of the gag in the script or somehow writers and producers of the 80's version may have been aware of the tv version and initially tried come up with an original name. But realize the name "Ghostbusters" is too perfect / proper to passby. Anyway beloe is the link to the opening of the Ghostbusters 70's version ---
