"During a session at the New York Comic-Con, Starlight head Jeff Gomez showed a slide that detailed the future of the "Halo" franchise. It stated: "Halo: two new trilogies starting in 2012/2013 with a major motion picture set for release by 2014."

This news comes after we just learned that Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks are working with Microsoft to develop a "Halo" movie, based on the novelizations of the video game.

After hearing about the presentation, Microsoft immediately released a statement, saying: "We worked with Starlight in the past, but the info isn't an accurate representation of our plans for the 'Halo' franchise."

Gomez then wrote on his Twitter account: Guys, it was NOT a 'Halo' roadmap. That was a chart illustrating how games can arc to movies. NOT real."

So, did the release year leak too soon or is it actually incorrect information? Stay tuned.
