H.R. Giger was born in Chur, Graubünden Canton, Switzerland and got his start with small ink drawings before progressing to oil paintings. His design for the Alien was inspired by his painting Necronom IV and earned him an Oscar in 1980.

Ridley Scott’s candid description of the moment was when he saw Necronomicon and realized his search for the perfect Alien had ended.

LEEE777 - The video is in Swiss but thats all I got, but that is very good news indeed as most would agree H.R. Giger on this new Alien prequel is a must, also its been said there could be two movies in the works.

Giger should design Brainiac for the new Superman movie. As long as he keeps the falic symbolism down to a minimum.

Great news! Giger's amazing!!! I met him at a gallery opening some years back and, while I'm not ussually star-struck, all I could do was tell him what a hudge fan I am of his and how much I admire his work as I shook hand. He was totally greacious though.
