After "The Dark Knight" was released in theaters it was clear to all of the fans that there would be a Batman 3. Instead of rushing into the next Batman film, Nolan decided to do "Inception."

Inception Pictures, Images and Photos

"Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming." The movie scored a 10/10 from Ign, while "The Dark Knight" got a 9.7. Although this is not a CBM, I am sure this is a great movie for any Nolan fan. "Inception" is set to be released on July 16, 2010

lol Lee trust me I am a true comic book fan, but This movie does look great and with Nolan in the Director seat I dont doubt it at all. But I wonder if this is gonna impact Batman 3 at all especially since there are many actors from TDK in this movie

I don't get the point of this. TDK is a great film no doubt but is by no means "unsurpassable". So news of any movie being labelled as "better" than TDK isn't surprising in the least, especially since it's only ONE opinion from ONE website. If all the movie critics unanimously agreed AND stated that "Inception is better than TDK", THEN it becomes newsworthy.

@ Shaman
I understand that, but I never said it was "unsurpassable" for a the same director to out do their best work, especially when its on a level like TDK then it is pretty hard. Also the movie will not be released for another week in America at least. Soo for IGN to have seen it and are giving it a better review than TDK i figured it should be news worthy...

It's getting rave reviews all over the place, going by the IGN one and the 7 reviews listed at Rotten Tomatoes. But I'm really excited for this, should be an amazing movie. It just might be better than TDK, who knows.

Judging from the Trailer this movie has more fantasy than ANYTHING Nolan has done before and even though he's only producing the Superman Reboot,we can now officially say that Nolan isn't going to force "Dark realism" on the film like some fans are accusing him of doing to Superman.

Anyway,I plan to see this.

THABATMAN- I never said that you said TDK was "unsurpassable". But the very comparison in the article implies the difficulty of TDK being surpassed. And personaly, i prefered Batman Begins so i still don't get what makes TDK high enough in "level" for Nolan to have trouble surpassing it since IMO he didn't do as good as he did with Begins. There are only two things which TDK has that Begins doesn't. An academy award given to Heath and better box office numbers. Neither of which makes TDK a better film in itself than Begins IMO. It's all about personal taste. Inception looks to be an astounding film yet seems to be nothing like TDK so i really don't get the comparision. True, both films are thrillers but one's a comic book film while the other is a supernatural intrigue. The only link is the director. It would be like comparing Zathura to Ironman. Two different animals entirely. There's no harm or foul here, bud. To each's own. I just don't get it is all.

I loved TDK, but it's not my all-time favorite movie. As great as TDK was, many other movies could be just as good.

I hope Man of Steel is one of them.

Comic book movies are kind of limited the way it's always about good guy vs. bad guy. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Inception turns out to be better since it's a personal work where Nolan had limitless storytelling ability.

Nolan is the smartest director in Hollywood right now. Ill go see anything he makes. And after hearing more about the movie's plot, this could be huge.

Better than TDK? A definite possibility.

I (in my opinion people) wasnt crazy over the dark knight hahaha, I enjoyed batman begins far more in evry way. I have to say Inception will be just far greater than batman. For one reason... Its not batman hahaha, cant be compaired because they are in NO way the same. but it will be a thinker for sure, I love it!

Everyone has been stating that this film challenges the mind n does it so well. Therefore I believe it beats tdk. Prestige beat begins, tdk beat prestige, n now inception beats tdk. This film is considered by me a stanley Kubrick film on nolans level. This is 2001
