As most of you know Christopher Nolan's Interstellar was heavily influenced by Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Something beautiful happens when you take the music from Interstellar and edit it with the stargate sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Earth's future has been riddled by disasters, famines, and droughts. There is only one way to ensure mankind's survival: Interstellar travel. A newly discovered wormhole in the far reaches of our solar system allows a team of astronauts to go where no man has gone before, a planet that may have the right environment to sustain human life.

I remember when I was watching 2001 for the first time, my mother walked in during this sequence and she was like, "What in the name of [frick] are you watching?"

@McGee

Aright Aright!!!!

The movie was amazing on all levels, it was the movie of the year hands down. The only movie that may have a chance topping this is The Hobbit but I doubt it!

I know that the film had flaws, but to me it was just so enjoyable that I shamelessly overlooked them. Amazing film. Even at Nolan's "worst", he still outperforms the vast majority of Hollywood directors in the business today. have to give him props
