Comingsoon.net has an exclusive interview - with the king of the Blockbuster World -James Cameron.

Asked when writing the script for Avatar 15 years ago did he have a vision what the sequels would be.

No, but a lot of ideas for the sequels kind of evolved out of writing the story for "Avatar." Anything that we designed, ideas that we had, if we couldn't figure out how to put them in the movie we said "We'll stick it in the sequel," so we have a big backlog of ideas.

Asked about how many sequels there will be, his reply was that he doesn't know. But he said that he has a story arc in mind already for the 2nd installment and very vage base for the third. Then proceeded that that does not mean that there'll be a third or they will stop with a third movie.

When asked if the Avatar sequel is his next movie. He said that hasn't been decided yet.

I think a sequel would be good. Just imagine where they can go next. I for one is eager to revisit Pandora.
