If you're of a certain age, you're sure to remember Weird Science... or more specifically, Kelly LeBrock in Weird Science!
Though it's generally considered one of John Hughes' "lesser" movies, the bonkers sci-fi comedy has built up a bit of a cult following over the years, and it's set to be re-released on 4K UHD Blu-ray from Arrow Films Video for the first time next week.
The 1985 feature is based on the 1951 pre-Code comic "Made of the Future" by Al Feldstein, and focuses on a pair of bullied teens (played by Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith) who decide to create their perfect woman using a computer and some hacked U.S. Government files (don't ask).
The stunning Lisa (LeBrock) materializes, and sets out to teach the boys how to stand up for themselves and win the hearts of their school crushes.
Critics weren't kind at the time, but audiences were a little more appreciative of the movie's juvenile, somewhat anarchic tone, and the late Bill Paxton's turn as one of the teen's older brothers is worth watching for alone.
Check out some new cover art below.
"Teen misfits Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) design their ideal woman on a computer, and a freak electrical accident brings her to life in the form of the lovely, superhuman Lisa (Kelly LeBrock). She outfits Gary and Wyatt in cool clothes, surprises them with a Porsche and helps them stand up to jerks Ian (Robert Downey Jr.) and Max (Robert Rusler). But, all the while, the boys must hide Lisa's existence from Chet (Bill Paxton), Wyatt's nightmare of a big brother."
