Dwayne Johnson Set To Reunite With SAN ANDREAS Director For RAMPAGE

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is all set to bring another video game to life and it looks like he'll have a familiar face along for the ride. The live-action adaptation of Rampage may have found its director.

Deadline is reporting that New Line Cinema is currently in talks with Brad Peyton (San Andreas) to direct their upcoming live-action film adaptation of the popular '80s arcade game Rampage, which already has Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (Furious 7) signed on to star.

If all goes according to plan, Rampage would be the third time Johnson and Peyton have worked together following 2012's Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and the disaster film San Andreas, which managed to gross over $460M worldwide earlier this year.

The plot of the film is being kept under wraps, but Deadline adds that the film adaptation is said to be fairly consistent with the Midway game as three monsters - George (a King Kong-like gorilla), Lizzie (a Godzilla-like dinosaur/lizard), and Ralph (a giant werewolf) - wreak havoc/rampage through several major U.S. cities. The script is currently being penned by Ryan Engle (Non-Stop) and production on the film is expected to kick off next summer after Johnson finishes shooting Universal's Fast & Furious 8

I don't know if they'll be able to top Journey 2. That was a true masterpiece.

I am convinced Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have clones of themselves which is why they can attend all these events and do all these movies at the same time.

Makes me wonder how he'll fit in time for Shazam whenever that kicks off but then I remember this is the Rock.

so many games to choose from yet they are going with Rampage ?
Oh well. I blame Pixels. Some of the studios will copy Sony idea now and will try to adapt arcade games now.

still i hope it will be funny flick with some good special effects.

The Rock is awesome, I'd love to have a beer with him and chill, but if he Smack Downs somebody as Black Adam, I might just walk out of the Theatre, haha

I liked Faster though, that was a cool movie
