Variety is reporting that Jake Lacy and Breanne Hill have joined the cast of New Line's upcoming arcade game adaptation, Rampage, which will star Dwayne Johnson (The Fate of the Furious) in the lead role.
The pair are now the latest actors to join the ever-growing cast, that in addition to Johnson, recently added Academy Award-nominee Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Joe Manganiello (The Batman), and Marley Shelton (Scream 4) in key roles. Brad Peyton (San Andreas) is helming the feature with a script from Ryan Engle (Non-Stop), Carlton Cuse (San Andreas), Ryan Condal (Hercules), and Adam Sztykiel (Due Date), who completed revisions on the most recent draft.
Plot details are being kept under lock-and-key, but the film is expected to remain fairly faithful to the classic game as it will feature "a monstrously transformed gorilla, crocodile, and wolf, who wreak havoc on North American cities and landmarks." No word on Lacy & Hill's characters, but Johnson's character has previously been descibred as an animal-loving hero, who is the world's only hope, while Harris will play a morally-sound geneticist, Manganiello will portray the leader of a private military group, and Shelton will portray a scientist-turned-astronaut.
Production is expected to begin this March.
Lacy is best known for his roles on television series such as The Office, Girls, and Better With You. He's also ventured into films over the past few years, with his credits including Miss Sloane, How To Be Single, Love The Coopers, and Carol. He can be seen next in the Jim Carrey-created Showtime series I'm Dying Up Here.
Hill previously worked with both Johnson & Peyton on San Andreas, making a small appearance as a waitress, and she currently stars on the Peyton-created Netflix series Frontier alongside Jason Momoa (Aquaman).
