THE GUEST Director Adam Wingard Signs On To Helm GODZILLA VS. KONG For Warner Bros. And Legendary
Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment's upcoming Godzilla VS. Kong movie finally has its director, as Adam Wingard has now signed on to orchestrate the clash of the iconic monsters...
When the undisputed kings of the monsters finally duke it out in 2020, Adam Wingard will be standing behind the camera. According to THR, the fan-favorite director of The Guest, You're Next and the upcoming Death Note movie has signed on to helm Godzilla VS. Kong for Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures.
While we wait for Kong to grow a few hundred feet, we'll catch up with the gigantic sea beast again in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which will star Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown. Though we'll almost certainly get a direct sequel to this year's Kong: Skull Island too at some point, that'll most likely be after the events of Wingard's film.
Plot details are under wraps for now, but don't be surprised if Kong and 'Zilla eventually team up to take on some other monsters once they've kicked the crap out of each other for a while.
Pirates of the Caribbean scribe Terry Rossio leads the writers room that's currently working on the script, which also includes Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne (Star Trek Beyond), Lindsey Beer, Cat Vasko, Maze Runner movies writer T.S. Nowlin, Jack Paglen (Transcendence), and Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski.
Godzilla VS. Kong is set to stomp into theaters on May 22, 2020.
