While Disney has been getting all the headlines with Avengers: Endgame, this summer is also shaping up to be quite massive for Warner Bros. as they launch two titles that should be humongous crowd-pleasers with Rob Letterman's Detective Pikachu and Michael Dougherty's Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

It's been a few months since we saw the official theatrical trailer and now, with David F. Sandberg's Shazam! just around the corner, it wouldn't exactly be a stretch to assume we might be getting a final trailer for the MonsterVerse sequel within the next few weeks as we prepare ourselves for the Kaiju battle to end all Kaiju battles as Godzilla takes on the likes of King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra.

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Movie looks awesome, but I feel like it has been overshadowed by Detective Pikachu and Aladdin. I hope it does well.

I never thought I’d be this excited over a Godzilla movie !!!! There is no need to have him fight Kong though. Let them team up from the beginning.

As excited as I am for this, I’m slightly disapointed that Toho isn’t planning to continue the Shin Gojira continuity. That take had a lot of potential.

This is and was never meant to be on the same level as Avengers: Endgame, but other than that and Dragon Ball Super: Broly (Should be Dragon Ball Z: Broly, but it is what it is), this is my next most anticipated movie of 2019 after the first trailer. I'm worried that it won't do the numbers that I think it should.
