The movie was a disappointment. The only good things in it were Sammuel Jackson, Thomas C Reilly and the final Kong fight. Tom Hiddleson was wooden as F#ck...and Brie Larson seemed like she had nothing to do. The jokes were terrible and the movie came across like they were trying to apply the Marvel formula to this shared monster universe. I also did not like the fact that Kong walked around on two legs as if he was human. There were also a lot of wasted opportunities for character development.

@Forthas - Honesty who really cares for character development in a giant monster flick? The last time that happened everyone s**t all over Godzilla for that.I'm pretty sure it's an enjoyable popcorn movie and shouldn't be expected to be an Oscar contender lol

@smgmayhem - It should matter because if Kong or even the other monsters are about to kill someone then you should care. I found myself not caring what happened to anyone. The problem with Godzilla was that it was mostly character development. They need to balance it with action. The action was good but some of it was pointless and gratuitous deaths.

@Forthas @Maia87 - Valid opinions but I'm pretty sure it's still at least enjoyable for what it is and to me it's exciting that they are actually going for a shared monster universe. There are still the purists who may not like that idea since they believe the original Toho films were the golden standard. In my opinion these monsters deserve the CGI upgrade and I'm curious as to how the rest of these films will play out.

@smgmayhem - The CGI is great. The only thing about Kong was that i thought he was too human like. Peter Jackson's Kong walked on all fours which I think is appropriate. This one walked around upright which looked strange to me. The CGI and action is not the problem, it is the stuff surrounding it.

As long as it has a Giant Gorellia swatting at WW1 air-planes, I'm good.
