Animated series based on Kong: Skull Island and Tomb Raider are in the works at Netflix.

Skull Island will be set in Legendary's Monsterverse, and focus on "a shipwrecked crew, an island of monsters, and one king to rule them all." Tomb Raider, meanwhile, will catch up with iconic adventurer Lara Croft after the events of Square Enix's video game reboot trilogy. It is not expected to have anything to do with the live-action reboot starring Alicia Vikander.

Castlevania studio Powerhouse Animation is working on Skull Island, which has Brian Duffield (Underwater, The Babysitter) on board as writer and exec producer. Jacob Robinson will also executive produces via his Tractor Pants banner.

Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin) will write and executive produce Tomb Raider, along with dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj and Howard Bliss.

The next Ubisoft/Netflix project! Great news.

I'm honestly waiting for Netflix' live-action adaptions of Assassin's Creed and (hopefully) Splinter Cell.

For a whole ass second I read that as a Kong and Tomb Raider crossover.

Hopefully the Kong show follows the adventures of Aaron Brooks, Houston Brooks from Skull Islands son.

I find it interesting that the Skull Island show is going to Netflix and not HBO Max seeing how WB distributed the MonsterVerse movies. Anyways, I'll give it a watch and give the Tomb Raider one a try as well.

Speaking of Netflix Animation, where's the second season of Love, Death + Robots? That first season was [frick]ing fire.
