Dwayne Johnson announced that the teaser trailer for Rampage would be with us today, and as promised, you can get your first look at some footage from the upcoming video game adaptation below.

The movie will be an adaptation of the classic arcade game, which focuses on three animals (a wolf, a crocodile and a gorilla) who fall victim to evil genetic editing, rapidly changing every strand of their DNA so they grow, evolve and mutate.

Johnson's character is charged with tracking them down, but the gorilla just so happens to be a friend of his named George.

The trailer is... definitely something. Have a look, and let us know what you thunk in the usual place.

Rampage also stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Naomie Harris, Malin Åkerman, Joe Manganiello, and Jake Lacy, and is scheduled for release on April 20, 2018.

I think the rock needs black Adam in a major way. Baywatch was bad and now he has this and jumanji coming up.

@Supercat6376 - LMAO I agree. This film looks like a gender swap version of King Kong, instead of a pretty damsel in distress its "The Rock" falling in love with a monkey. WTF?

i enjoy The Rock as much as the next guy, but soon enough people will realise he just plays the same character every movie. Especially if we're getting 3 a year.

I was hoping they would keep the human to animal element but I guess that would have been too goofy for the film. This still looks pretty awesome though.

Okay... in all seriousness... What is with the obsession with the Rock in a helicopter as a city crumbles beneath him? It's... it's actually weird.
