Latest Teaser Image For THE DARK TOWER Teases Other Worlds Than These

The Dark Tower's Tom Taylor (who plays Jake Chambers in the movie) has shared a new teaser image for the Stephen King adaptation which features a location and caption sure to make fans of the books excited...

In The Gunslinger (the first of Stephen King's The Dark Tower novels), Roland Deschain meets Jake Chambers in a way-station in Mid-World during his pursuit of The Man in Black through the desert. The two characters team up for a while before a fateful decision is made and Jake utters the immortal line, "Go then, there are other worlds than these." That would prove to be true in surprising ways, and now Tom Taylor has shared an image featuring that and a location which looks a lot like the way-station!

Of course, with The Dark Tower movie set to be a sequel of sorts of the novels, it remains to be seen how history is going to differ and whether Roland and Jake will meet in the same way. Based on information revealed by Entertainment Weekly last month, the former will track down the youngster because The Man in Black is after his amazing psychic abilities, something which instantly sets this movie apart from the source material. Either way, this is a very cool teaser image, don't you think?

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, The Dark Tower is currently set to be released on February 17th, next year.

If this film and the IT reboot are good, I would love to see a Stephen King Cinematic Universe (since many of the novels are connected).

@Darkknight2149 - All the novels are connected really, just not through plot and whatnot. They all exist within the same universe just as Marvel Zombies exists within the same universe as the regular Marvel comics. I was curious if that was maybe a game plan for the the films since they were coming out so close to one another and the shared universe thing is a big fad right now. Would love it if done correctly.

@Darkknight2149 - it would be cool to see Matthew McConaughey reprise his role as Randal Flagg in a remake of The Stand

I hope the film takes visual and stylistic inspiration from the comic adaptation.

@keeters - is be really disappointed if they didn't. If even be OK if the scene was different but ended the same. Would be a great way to end the first movie.

@keeters - Flashback!

@BassMan -IMO the best way for them to handle the source material would be in strange flashbacks of things Roland and the Ka-tet have done from the books but cannot remember doing them. Then, at the end of the journey, it is revealed to them that it's all happened before and Roland has been repeating his quest for god knows how long. This could give him an opportunity to change his ways and achieve redemption before climbing to the top of the dark tower and become its master/defender

@keeters - That's a pretty good idea really, and that could save valuable screen time for the films. I've heard it's going to be a trilogy, so alot is going to have to be cut :-(
