Director Matt Reeves and composer Michael Giacchino have both confirmed on their Twitter accounts that they will be reteaming for next summer's highly anticipated sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, which recently began production. The two previously worked together on 2010's Let Me In; Giacchino also worked on Cloverfield but was uncredited. Below are the two's tweets confirming the news. Patrick Doyle scored 2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. Are you disappointed by the decision to replace him, or is Giacchino a better choice?

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPheean and Judy Greer. The film is set to hit theaters May 23rd, 2014 in 3D.

Giacchino hasn't done a bad score yet. Marvel needs to pay up and give him a shot at an MCU film. He's already in with the Disney - Pixar family.

Meh. This is OK news but I would have went with John Ottman. He could make the next Apes film epic like just like his Superman score.

@Omarvis

Jurassic 4 got pulled from the 2014 line up,likely because it was not coming together cast wise fast enough to start filming this summer to make a June 2014 release date.

I bet Universal will release it in summer 2015 when the true battle of the movie ages is set to take place.

Disney/Marvel:Avengers2,POTC 5,Star Wars Episode 7.

WB: Justice League

FOX: Fantastic Four (not a summer release but FOX might move it there) Maybe Avatar 2 or Prometheus 2.

Paramount: Maybe Mission Impossible 5

Sony: Maybe Men in Black 4

I know Giacchino's work from John Carter and Lost, both of which had phenomenal soundtracks. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes can only get better now that he is on board as composer.

@OhThePurdue

John Ottman? Really? The only parts of his SUPERMAN RETURNS score that I found worth listening to were his renditions of John Williams' music.
