For those of you unfamiliar with the few plot details revealed so far, "Interstellar chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage." With a cast which includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine, Interstellar boasts perhaps the most impressive line-up of actors from any 2014 movie. Nolan’s last non-Batman related picture was Inception, and that earned over $825 million worldwide. After that and the success of The Dark Knight Rises,Interstellar should be even bigger! Are you guys looking forward to the movie?

I guess Nolan hasn't lived long enough to see himself become the villain.

The general audience seems to love this movie. I was on Reddit this morning and the praise was unbelievable. Can't wait until Friday.

Not really eager to see this one. Not that it looks bad or anything. But I think I'm just going to wait until the DVD drops.

"Guardians of the Galaxy never said it was the next 2001 Space Odyssey"

Neither did Interstellar... so what's your point?

@DoubleD--Having seen Interstellar I can tell you it is BETTER than 2001..better pace, better acting, not nearly as tedious and boring...

That being said when did Nolan or anyone associated with the production say Interstellar was the next 2001?

@MantiumMan-I liked Inception a bit more but I love Inception

I would say it is a better overall film than The Prestige but completely different so hard to compare...

But definately better than 2001...

Watched the movie last night at the Udvar Hazy IMAX adjacent Dulles International Airport.

Solid A-...Nolan went for EPIC and ended up with epic. More humorous than the trailers suggest (in a BRO-sense), sometimes the music and sound were perfect, other times it was hard to hear what the characters were saying...but the actors hit their marks, the movie went by incredibly fast for me despite the running time and so many homages to sci fy movies...all slightly twisted/different but there. As usual w/Nolan movie, all the plot points are there for the asking and almost EVERYTHING is foreshadowed. Afterwards I had as stimulating a conversation w/my wife as to what was going on in the film as I've ever had on a film we saw together. She thinks it's the best film she's ever seen...she said "I got lost in it and felt I was there", I think it's really good. So I'm going back to a smaller theater to see/hear what I missed. Maybe it's a Female-Male thing...she LOVED the interactions between all the characters...it really is a talking heads movie w/great action scenes and visuals in-between.

The reviewers who have said it's a great movie...(but)...are what I saw. I think he missed EPIC by a few millimeters. I can remember a small smattering of applause at the end and a lot of discussion in the audience as we filed out...nothing negative...just discussions on what they saw and what it meant. So...go see this movie...it is meant to be seen in a theater and meant to be discussed afterwards.
