I just realized this trailer is very Michael Bay-esque. It is about what I would expect if he were to try a "gritty" movie.

I really enjoyed the Captain America series but I was afraid that this movie would turn out to be more of an Avenger movie and it did. Found the movie to be entertaining but disappointing at the same time. Some of the CG effects was terrible and found that posting the countries names in bold white letters across the screen every time they entered a new area was a poor choice. Hoping this movie does well to warrant an actual Captain America sequel.

Nothing happened in this movie. Marvel doesn't have the balls to do anything different.

I really struggled with this movie. I liked it. It was good but it just seems so formulaic. I've always been excited about these movies but as each one goes by I just feel like it's a 2.5hr distraction with bright colors, explosions, pretty cool fight scenes and some jokes just to keep me from realizing that it's really just the last Marvel movie with a different outfit on. I didn't say anything to anyone and people I know all seem to say the same thing. The main response my friends and I agree on is that these movies have absolutely no soul. Also, it seemed so strategic. I mean, are you gonna tell me that the main theme about avoiding collateral damage wasn't direct pandering to everyone who cried about the destruction in MoS??? Of course we all know that this "Civil War" decision was made 100% to come meet with BvS. Now everybody is enjoying bad-mouthing BvS but at least it tried to have a soul. I mean, there was certainly storytelling issues but I also think that the crowds are Marvel programmed to think that anything outside that very specific box is bad. Had BvS had more connectivity between multiple storylines it would've been one of the best CBMs in history. I actually saw quite a bit of story flaws in CA:CW but they've mastered the ability to keep you distracted at all times so you don't notice. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I personally like BvS better but I'm not gonna say that it's a masterpiece. I just like that it hot me really involved. It made me go deep into understanding Supermans journey and hoe it would probably be in a world like ours. Batman was dark and angry and cynical. He was egotistical and somewhat disturbed. That's what he'd be like in a world like ours. I get though. Some people want a explosion fest with funny jokes and little depth. I want complex characters and plots that make me ask questions and guess where we are going with it. I want to be involved in movies again instead of just a spectator. I feel like BvS intended to do that. For me, it worked. Unfortunately we're in a environment where people are divisive and they expect mass conformity. In today's world I can't have a different opinion or I'm stupid or mislead. Wasn't that what made DC and Marvel so exciting??? They adhered to different personalities, right? Well I personally think that because people and critics have been molded into the Marvel form, anything else will be shredded. I think we all know BvS' score shouldn't be 28 or whatever. It's definitely worth the 50s range for the overall masses. I personally see it in the 80s but then again I see these new Marvel movies in the 40s so that's a clear example of my differing opinion. Anyhow, that's my take. I'm sure many or maybe even most won't agree, but it's honest and not meant to be argumentative like so many posts on here. I miss the days before BvS where people had much more camaraderie but now it's not really the same. What I love is that BvS did that. A movie that is supposed to be sooo horrible actually had a bigger effect on people for better or worse. That's a pretty big deal!
