The Power Rangers franchise is celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2023, and members of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast will return for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, a new scripted special on Netflix.
Entertainment Weekly (via SFFGazette.com) reports that David Yost is back as Billy, the Blue Ranger, alongside Walter Emanuel Jones (Black Ranger Zack), Catherine Sutherland (Pink Ranger Kat), Steve Cardenas (Red Ranger Rocky), Karan Ashley (Yellow Ranger Aisha), and Johnny Yong Bosch (Black Ranger Adam).
Yost is the longest-serving original Ranger as he played Billy in 200 episodes across four seasons. He calls the reunion "amazing," adding, "It was such a surreal experience to be on the set of Power Rangers again after 28 years."
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always sees the heroes come face to face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise 'Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,' Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you are always a part of the Ranger family and always welcome.
Other cast members include Barbara Goodson (Rita Repulsa), Richard Horvitz (Alpha 5), and franchise newcomer Charlie Kersh as Minh, the daughter of the original Yellow Ranger Trini. Thuy Trang played her but passed away in 2001 following a car accident. It's unclear whether Green Ranger Tommy actor Jason David Frank will be honoured in any way after he died in 2022.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always will premiere on Netflix on April 19, and we hope to have a trailer to share with you soon.
