Netflix has finally released a first look at the second half of Power Rangers Dino Fury season 2 (via SFFGazette.com), confirming that this next batch of episodes will hit the streaming service on September 29. Fans have eleven 22-minute episodes to look forward to, but the biggest talking point here has to be the return of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers villain Lord Zedd.
He has, of course, made many appearances since that classic movie was released, but this will no doubt make old and new fans alike very happy indeed.
This news comes in the midst of Hasbro's "Power Week" celebration, and we're anticipating more reveals over the coming days (you'll find all the latest updates on SFFGazette.com). Whether that will include updates on Netflix's future plans for the franchise is unclear, but it would be great to get a better idea of what's going on with that planned movie reboot.
In Season 2 of Power Rangers Dino Fury, with the seeming defeat of the villainous Void Knight, Pine Ridge has enjoyed a period of relative calm. The Rangers have thrown themselves into their civilian lives while Zayto and Aiyon use the technology of Dinohenge to search for their home planet of Rafkon. That's all about to change. With villains new and old gathering against them, the adventure of the Dino Fury Power Rangers is only beginning.
"We are so excited for fans to experience the final climactic episodes of season two, where all storylines and threads pay off," showrunner Simon Bennett said in a press release yesterday. "We've packed in twists and turns, as well moments of heart between these amazing Power Rangers, and it is been so rewarding to see these characters grow over the last two years."
