Fifield looks like a deformed martian but I wanted the multiple Engineer scene to stay in the final cut.

@Maximus101

Thank you. Thank you very much.

I'm glad some of the haters are liking the movie a little more because of these extra scenes, but you just kinda prove my theory that the whiners about this movie initially just need to be spoonfed everything to enjoy a movie. Sad. And if everyone in these types of movies was so up to your intelligence standards, we'd have a LOT of boring-ass movies to watch. People do stupid things, that's a scientific fact. Lol

Still a mess of a movie.

I found it hilarious how almost every one of these deleted scenes was an important plot development, rather than something cut for time.

Actually, I really dug the killer-crewmember one. It seemed to offer the other half of the "Alien" origin from the original movie. The way the crew-member moved/fused with his suit is strikingly remeniscent of the original creature, even moreso than the "deacon" we see at the end.

@Dionysios

The movie was never meant to "be smart" at all. It was meant to make you THINK. And judging from the divisive audience and continuing discussion, I would say it did its job. Although the THINK part is a tall order for some, lol.

I got it to work...yeah...honestly there were the only reason i wanted to buy the Bluray next tuesday. That Fifield attack is friggin awesome...

This movie made some awful post-production/editing decisions to leave some of this stuff out.

Such a shit film. They should've thrown in some tits and ass. Would've somewhat made up for it's lack of intelligence.

the only good thing about this movie was that it kind of reminded me, vaguely, of Mass Effect.

What a mess of a film this was. And why didn't the main villain - the engineer bloke - speak? I think it would have explained a lot more about what the heck he was doing. Just running around like a mute WWF wrestler didn't enhance the plot!
dreddhead123

The film felt a bit pointless.

MAJOR SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!

The engineer was part of the 'first generation' human race? I think so. His race created us - 'second generation' humans - then us second gen humans travel to his planet and the last survivor decides to kill us? Why? Why would you kill your children? I don't think that concept made any sense and undermined the end of the film.

It's like the screenwriters made it up as they went along. This isn't a proper Alien film. It's a mishmash of ideas that don't make for a coherent whole. Plotwise it was all over the place, the best example being:

Elizabeth Shaw gives birth to an alien parasite - the very first alien parasite born in a human being - and she doesn't mention it to anyone. No-one on the ship is interested in going to the med-bay to check it out, to make sure it's dead, to analyze it? It made no sense. That's just bad screenwriting - PERIOD.

I enjoyed the film but it was a crappy story, or rather, a good idea for a story badly executed.

jessepostal - 10/3/2012, 6:04 AM
It was implied in the movie that the engineers were "angry with there children" which is part of the reason shaw is going to there planet, for answers.
lokibane2012
lokibane2012 - 10/3/2012, 6:23 AM
@jessepostal

I wouldn't use the word "implied". More like "hammered in". Along with the vice versa case of children wanting their parents dead because they want the power now (bullshit).

Anything in this film was devoid of any subtlety or any middle ground. They went for the extremes every time. Either hammering things in, in the most heavy handed manner possible or not giving anything at all (which was probably because they didn't think it through).

Fail film. With fail intelligence.
