Honestly, it looks crappy. I don't think that it'll be in the same league as Wanted at all. Dakota Flanning is just as good of an actress as McKauley Culkin which is good for a kid but nothing more. Her so called cuteness won't make me like this movie. And it really doesn't look like Djimon Hounsou's usual award winning performances. I don't know it just doesn't apeal to me that much. I'll rent it.

I have to give them props for the first ever telekenetic pistol whipping. But other than that it didnt look very intense or good.

A group of people with special powers (telepathy, time travel, super strength) that must come together to fight off a secret evil organization that wants to turn people like them into weapons. sound familiar?

Complete rip off of Heroes (especially Djimon's power). Which was a complete rip off from X-men. Which was completely original at the time it was made. Which further proves my point that X-men is amazing.

BUT

I'll def see the movie :)

I'm not sure how good it will be, but its worth the five minutes it takes to find the torrent ;)

When the guns are floating, the screen feels like a first person shooter game. The way the guns are angled emphasize that feeling.

It looks extremely crappy and corny, why grab the gun when you can float it? if you could make a shield to deflect a bullet, why not deflect it sending it right back at your opponents throat? The effects look... bad and the action is kind of boring, maybe it would have been cool in the 80s but not by today's standards.

It piss' me off to see Chris Evans do this movie, that looks amazingly unoriginal and shitty, but says he is done with Human Torch. Congrats Chris Evans for being the newest recipient of my "Deuchebag" award. Only the biggest Deuche's in existence are eligible and you sir have earned it.

i think it looks ok, the dialogue is abysmal though. Shaman Dakota Fanning is 100 times the actor Culkin ever was..just watch man on fire, shes at least convincing

Yeah Myth, Chris really let me down here.

Eh Roar, "School of Rock" had a handfull of kids that have the same range of acting as she does. I saw "man on fire" and "i am sam" and "War of the worlds" and i'm not impressed. Don't get me wrong, she's as good as child actors go. They are all similarly good but in this movie it apears as if they are "using" her to make the movie more apealing and it just feels like they're "Push"ing her down our throats and it really doesn't apeal to me. It looks like a lame and shameful attempt to market the movie. They're even using Hounsou which doesn't even seem to deliver a performance that would do his career and resume justice. Of course i'm just bitching about a "trailer" but that's the intuitive vibe i'm getting from it and it never lies. You'll let me know how it is won't you buddy? Right now it really looks like "Matilda meets the Matrix". And i loved Matilda :) But this concept is ...eehh.

I know I'm probably going to be eviscerated by this community for saying this, but I actually think it looks pretty entertaining. It may not be "Wanted" or "The Matrix" but if you judge it on its own merits instead of comparing it to other great movies, you might actually enjoy the movie. I think I will. Besides, Djimon Honsou is a pimp......

I'm with ya Gideon. I think it looks great. Original concept, and I'm going to have to disagree with Shaman's initial statement claiming that Dakota Fanning is only a good kid actress. I think she was amazing in Man on Fire, but then again that was the only movie of hers that I watched clear through. I have yet to see her in a film since she's aged a bit but I believe she'll do a good job and that the film will be in Hancock league. Obviously not Watchmen

I loved the school of rock kids!,,and im pretty sure they loved me! (thats a line from the movie before i get called a nonce!)

But yeah i mean shes not amazing or anything but she convinces me in her roles. Chris Evans is also a pretty good actor when he wants to be..check out Sunshine for evidence of this.

Very true Roar, i actually very much like Chris Evans. It's just that... no, i don't have an argument. The little fan boy in me wants him to be Torch in a new Spidey movie and Hounsou to be in Avengers as Black Panther. Sorry for the lame rant LOL By the way Roar, in Canada, Jack Black says "You're kids have all touched me, and i'm pretty sure i've touched them all too!" LOL I don't know if in Ireland they use the same dialog or not LOL I watched it last night, i love that movie :)

A lot of people don't seem to like it...but I find it really awesome. I mean one of the best things about this movie is that it's original and not adapted from something so it would be different. And people say it's a rip off of xmen is...if that's the case than everything else is a rip off...I mean think about it, Avengers is a team, Justice League is...Heroes kinda is...but they're all different in their own way. And there are no real teams in this movie. And everyone has some kinda power that has to do with the mind. So it's pretty cool. I think it is...
Shaman
Shaman - 1/16/2009, 3:03 PM
It's pretty cool yes, but it's been done how many times? That's the problem, it isn't original. It's not the fact that it's a rip-off so much it's that it doesn't offer anything fresh of what they ripped off. They took an already existing concept and didn't bother adding anything fresh to it. Something to make us go "wow, i haven't seen that before!" It just says to me "why go out for burgers when i got patties and buns at home?"

use the force Chris Evans. lol

Chris Evans does a Fantastic job. if they ever made a movie about a superhero going solo it would be human torch, he is probably the coolest out of the 4. Alba is just hot so ill leave it at that. i played FF ROTSS on my ps3 and the only character thats fun to play as is Torch b/c his powers are most utilized, Thing is also pretty good for breaking shit. Torch can actually fly in the game which makes it alot faster to get threw a level.

this movie is gonna be great. i really wish though that Dakota Fanning wasnt in it. shes an awful actor and no1 likes her. Camilla Bell is so sexy though. im glad she is gettin some better roles. if she plays it right off of this movie and its success she should get some better more noticable roles(hopefully with some nude scenes)and make it big.

well i think its gunna be a ok film, its exciting that out of all the good superhero movies have done that they started making some not based on comics. Yea they kinda stole it from X-men/ Jumper but hey ill be ready to buy my tickets for this movie.
See Ya, The Shakebake

o no doubt this movie knocks off many others but its the originality of the movie that will make people wanna see it. i like the concept very much.
crappybumbum
crappybumbum - 1/18/2009, 1:17 AM
lol good point shaman...

but I think a lot of people would like to watch it because it isn't adapted from anything unlike pretty much all of the other comic book movies...that's probably the only thing that attracts. I mean I wanna see it just to see if it'll be any good.

that looked so cheesy. I'm not wasting 11 bucks on this trash.
Shaman
Shaman - 1/19/2009, 6:53 AM
True crappy, and not to mention that it really does depend on what other movie is out at the same time. Some people go every week to theaters to catch the new one out. So hopefully it'll be the only good one that week or else it'll bomb. If it would've came out at the same time as "The Unborn", it wouldn't have made much.
