"You are all that stands between us and annihilation."

Following Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire's debut on Netflix last night (you can check out a spoiler breakdown of the ending here), the streamer has released the first trailer for the second part of Zack Snyder's Star Wars-inspired sci-fi epic, The Scargiver.

The teaser finds Kora and the other survivors of the first film's battle against Admiral Noble's forces preparing the people of Veldt for the imminent arrival of the full might of the Motherworld. We also get glimpses of flashbacks to General Titus' days as an enemy soldier before he, like Kora, turned his back on The Imperium.

As expected, it looks like Jimmy the robot will be the final piece of this "Magnificent Seven," although he doesn't seem too confident in their chances.

Check out the trailer below along with two promo images, and let us know what you made of A Child of Fire in the comments section.

From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes REBEL MOON, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making. When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.

Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Mother World, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants and orphans of war from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a battle over the fate of a galaxy is waged, and in the process, a new army of heroes is formed.

The heroes of Rebel Moon are: Kora (Sofia Boutella), an Imperium deserter who leaves the peaceful Veldt to fight back; Kai (Charlie Hunnam), a mercenary pilot whose Tawau-Class freighter will prove invaluable to Kora’s quest; Gunnar (Michiel Huisman), a Veldt farmer who knows little of the galaxy outside of his small, quiet corner of the galaxy; General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), a hardened gladiator who once served the Imperium; Tarak (Staz Nair), a noble indentured servant who shares a bond with a flying creature called a Bennu; Nemesis (Doona Bae), a cyborg sword master whose mechanical hands allow her to wield molten-metal weapons; Darrian Bloodaxe (Ray Fisher), an insurgent who has been harrying the Imperium with guerilla attacks; and Milius (E. Duffy), a refugee who seeks justice for their home — a colony that has already fallen to the Mother World.

Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire hits Netflix on December 21. The sequel, Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver, will debut on April 19, 2024.

Decent, Snyder should just stay as a creative and visuals in movies. Would be the best for him, but thats just me.

Watched it last night. Definitely not as bad as reviews are making it out to be. Good set up for part 2. Zacks worst movie is still suckerpunch IMO.

I dug Part One. It has its issues and you can totally tell where things were cut for his R rated cut but hey.. I still enjoyed it. Definitely will never understand the hate critics have for Snyder. This film getting 23% on RT is just dumb.

@TheLobster - well they are just haters for the sake to hate. And yes, I mean the critics. Audience is 70% and thats about it. I'll give it a 50% at this point, becuse going to watch it again.

Zack is like that kid with all the cool fancy toys, but no real idea how to play with them so he just bang them together going "pchh, pow ctchhh".

In all honestly though, Id love to see him as an art director at some video game company. I think his visuall style would work extremly well there.

Finally saw part one! Not the worst film I have ever seen but it is on balance an overall mess. I think Zack Snyder would be well served having someone else write his films. I can't see this evolving into an ongoing franchise.

After watching this film, it is obvious that Zack Snyder's morbid view of the world taints his films to the point it is dreary and depressing. It seems weird that Man of Steel turned out so well. Christopher Nolan must have had Snyder on a leash to hold back his worst tendencies.
