Ridley Scott has taken his production of Prometheus to Iceland to film what will equate to about 15 minutes of the movie there. Iceland wont play a huge role in the film with Scott saying, "It will be 15 minutes in total, if all goes to plan. We are shooting the beginning of time.” Production started today at the foot of Hekla volcano. Also joining Scott in Iceland is some of the films stars.

Reports Icenews:

The recording will last for the next two weeks and will feature Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron and X-Men hero Michael Fassbender. Actress Noomi Rice is also gracing Iceland with her presence over the next fortnight with the film crew, who will also be filming at the Dettifoss waterfall — Europe’s most powerful by volume of water.

Hekla Volcano:

Dettifoss Waterfall:

Scott explained his choice of using Iceland by saying, "It is possible to find similar landscapes elsewhere in the world, but here it is so rough and ‘Jurassic-like’ and that proved decisive. Iceland is a massively beautiful country."

Prometheus will hit theaters on June 8th, 2012!

Please don't let this movie be bad. I love Alien(s), and as much as AVP:Requim had the awesome idea of bringing them to earth, the Xenomorphs need to be done better justice on the big screen.

Lisbeth Salander and Noomi Rice are not actresses. Noomi Rapace is. Beginning of time, huh? Linked to the creation of the Xenomorphs, perhaps? They're not gonna get into the Cosmic Egg thing, are they? Like how Tiamat is the mother of all reptillian dragon monsters and all that Messopotamian shit? Cause I was gonna do a film with that kind of 15 minute beginning of time thing.
If it is linked to the origin of the Xenomorphs, though, then it means that they are not going to retcon AvP by having the Xenomorphs created by the Space Jockeys in the future, so that's a good thing.

@ThreeBigTacos: I don't think Ridley Scott would intentionally screw up his own creation, but lets just you and I pray for this film all the same huh? P :)

Still says Noomi Rice, instead of Noomi Rapace... She'll be playing Elizabeth Shaw.
