We've seen a lot of character posters for Star Trek Beyond since that impressive second trailer was released, but after dealing with the supporting characters, we're finally looking at the two who arguably matter the most to this movie. Those are of couse lead hero Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and the newly introduced villain played by Idris Elba, Krall. Seeing these two clash on the big screen promises to be a lot of fun, even if it is impossible to recognise the latter beneath those heavy prosthetics.

Star Trek Beyond features the return of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and John Cho along with new roles for Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella and Joe Taslim. J.J. Abrams, who directed the last two films, is producing the third film in the rebooted franchise. Justin Lin is directing from a script by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung. The movie is currently set to reach the big screen on July 22nd, just a few weeks before the Star Trek franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary.

@dannramm113 - i can tell you exactly why ITD is looked down upon. There was no context for the Kahn reveal, we all know its a different universe but that doesnt matter Any Kirk or any Khan would never ever work together. There was the entire 911 truther plot about this great disaster was an insode job to futher one mans cause. It was a decent film but some build up of why kirk and khan hate each other instead of making them mirrors of eachother with a similar cause. It was a neat film but it has its issues like any second film in a franchise. I refer to it as Star Trek The Wrath Of Spock.

@SuperCat - This is much better! I'd rather not use my own hands to punch someone. This could cause injuries to me!

Is that Krall or a poster for the second season of the flash? That looks like Zoom to me.

Still love the Enterprise styled Jackets.

Krall "A new character" i have a hard time believing this after the Kahn snafu. Getting a total Jemm Haddar/Reman vibe from him plus the villain ship design.
