"Our captain will come for us, mercy will be the last thing on his mind." - The threat is solid, but Idris Elba's menacing Krall hardly looks worried. At the Star Trek fan event in Los Angeles tonight, Paramount Pictures unveiled a brand new trailer for Star Trek Beyond, which is the third installment in their rebooted Star Trek film series. They also officially announced that the film will have its world premiere during San Diego Comic-Con on July 20, ahead of its worldwide release on July 22.

The Justin Lin-directed sci-fi epic stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin as the USS Enterprise crew and introduces Idris Elba as a deadly new villain and Sofia Boutella as a mysterious new ally. Check out the exciting new trailer below:

Plus, here's a brand new poster:

And, here's a limited edition poster that was given exclusively to attendees of the fan event:

After stopping off at Starbase Earhart, a remote outpost on the fringes of Federation space, the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five-year mission, is destroyed by a powerful, unstoppable wave of unknown aliens. With the crew stranded on a unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy who has a well-earned hatred of the Federation and what it stands for.

Star Trek Beyond will feature:
Director: Justin Lin
Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk
Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock
Zoe Saldana as LT Nyota Uhura
Karl Urban as LCDR Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy
Simon Pegg as LCDR Montgomery "Scotty" Scott

Idris Elba as Krall
Sofia Boutella as Jaylah
Joe Taslim in an undisclosed role
Lydia Wilson in an undisclosed role

@blitzkreg - That's not exactly a stellar endorsement. They hired an action movie director, and an action movie seems to be exactly what he's delivered. Not to mention, the dialogue is shite. "I'm counting on it"? "He likes that chair"? "Hang onto something"?

That poster is fantastic. Also, the trailer isn't bad either.

Not bad. I like it :). Much better than the last trailer, still don't have total faith in the director. But i'm curious to where this movie goes :)
